I have studied these motors for 3 years before building my first. Gathering files from web sites like Gus Mahon, The Dodge Garage, Mike Marra, Joe O’Conner, and many others, I have been able to build a Turbo Bible of info to build a 2.2 I would have fun with and have a little power left over.

Modifications as of 8/14/2004


Well I said I wanted more, so I went for more! The car NOW contains the following:


T2 2.2 block .020" over bore (3.465" Bore) Honed with torque plate

(Same head, but would really like to upgrade)
Head Port and 3 angle valve job with backcut valves by E & D Machine


New Turbo is:
50 Trim T04E compressor wheel (14mm Larger than stock) in a machined T03 Garrett compressor housing
Turbine consists of Stage 2 wheel (also 14mm Larger than stock)
.63 Turbonetics turbine housing with a Turbonetics 2.5" swingvalve -


New Intercooler mounted in front air dam: 22" x 6" x 2 1/4"-

2.5 inch downpipe to Dynomax Super Turbo muffler with Hi Flow Cat (about to change)-

Custom T2 SMEC converted to 3 bar- Accufab FPR and +20 Injectors (about to change real soon, out of fuel)- A-413 Auto Transmission (Rebuilt and Kicks good from 1st to 2nd)- Sport Comp A/F Ratio and Boost/Vacuum/and EGT Gauges-
