I have studied these motors for 3 years before building my first. Gathering files from web sites like Gus Mahon, The Dodge Garage, Mike Marra, Joe O’Conner, and many others, I have been able to build a Turbo Bible of info to build a 2.2 I would have fun with and have a little power left over.
The car contains the following:
T1 2.2 block rebuilt standard bore-
Head Port and 3 angle valve job with backcut valves by E & D Machine in Arkansas
(Please, feel free to e-mail the Arkansas jokes, LOL)
T2 Garrett turbo-
T2 Stock intercooler-
2.5 inch downpipe to Dynomax Super Turbo muffler with Hi Flow Cat-
FWD Performance Stage 3 15 psi. computer-
Accufab FPR and +20 Injectors-
A-413 Auto Transmission-
Sport Comp A/F Ratio and Boost/Vacuum Gauges-
The only problem I have now is
“I WANT MORE”
!
Modifications as of 8/14/2004
Well I said I wanted more, so I went for more! The car NOW contains the following:
T2 2.2 block .020" over bore (3.465" Bore) Honed with torque plate
(Same head, but would really like to upgrade)
Head Port and 3 angle valve job with backcut valves by E & D Machine
New Turbo is:
50 Trim T04E compressor wheel (14mm Larger than stock) in a machined T03 Garrett compressor housing
Turbine consists of Stage 2 wheel (also 14mm Larger than stock)
.63 Turbonetics turbine housing with a Turbonetics 2.5" swingvalve -
New Intercooler mounted in front air dam: 22" x 6" x 2 1/4"-
2.5 inch downpipe to Dynomax Super Turbo muffler with Hi Flow Cat (about to change)-
Custom T2 SMEC converted to 3 bar-
Accufab FPR and +20 Injectors (about to change real soon, out of fuel)-
A-413 Auto Transmission (Rebuilt and Kicks good from 1st to 2nd)-
Sport Comp A/F Ratio and Boost/Vacuum/and EGT Gauges-
Here are some
pics:
Putting a face to the name. This was taking after an all night build at 2 in the morn, and I had it running by 6 AM.
Got the Daytona painted recently and also installed a Viper onto the rear instead buying a cheesy Nitrous kit
